Fellowship matters golf outing- 2017
Our literacy outreach program in Houston recently got the attention of national media. Learn more about this page-turner.
On the morning of April 21, 2000 I was in a serious motorcycle accident. A closed head injury and multiple broken bones kept me in a coma for one month and the hospital for two months. After months of rehabilitation I slowly put my life back together. God spared my life for a reason. I felt truly blessed and I felt the desire to give something back. This was a pivotal moment in my life.
In 2007, I started making sandwiches and handing them out at the downtown library to people in need. Then I had a thought that they would probably love a grilled hotdog. I would transport my grill and all the supplies, this process took some time; the people would line up and they would be so hungry while they waited. Now the hotdogs are grilled at home and are ready to serve upon arrival.
Over the years it has grown and we have great people helping up front and behind the scenes. My church has gotten involved with the feeding program and sharing fellowship with those in need. One year ago seven other people and I started a Non-Profit group ‘Fellowship Matters’. We serve hotdogs, soup and other side dishes. Our mission is to provide fellowship and food to those in need and to assist other organizations with the same goals.
